This week we had Olympics at preschool. My niece gave me the idea since her son did their Olympics at his preschool in January. As usual when I give my daughter an idea, she runs with it. She had so many wonderful ideas. Thursday we had our "opening ceremony" our Olympic torch was a paper towel tube covered in aluminum foil and the fire was tissue paper. We held our torch relay in our pod area. The children from each class lined up against the wall and passed the torch with the Bugler's Dream/Olympic Fanfare playing on the c.d. player.

Today, the games began. The children were so excited!!!
Paper plates do well for ice skates!!!!

A cardboard microwave box painted by the children is an excellent bobsled.

Wood blocks make wonderful skis.
The luge is our indoor slide.
They all were gold medalists! The ceremony complete with the presentation of the American Flag and the National Anthem playing!!!! It was wonderful! What a fun week.
